I am a huge fan of smoothie bowls. I realized our love affair while living in Australia. Bondi Beach in Sydney is a health-lovers paradise. On almost every corner you will find an organic shop or smoothie boutique. I can’t say it took long for me to be swooned. Aussies love their smoothie bowls and I frequently picked one up on my walk home from Tamarama or Bondi Beach. These bowls are basically a thicker version of a smoothie topped with granola, chopped fruit, and maybe some coconut or bee pollen. Give me a spoon and I’ll eat this in a second.
After a few tries, I found this beautiful, superfood treat to sometimes be time-consuming, and unfortunately I am not the most patient person. So I decided to make an easier version and am excited it still tastes fantastic! This is so easy that I end up making one almost every day if it’s hot outside.
PrintSuper Simple Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 1 cup of plant based or raw milk
- 1 tsp superfood powder (optional) my favorites are cacao, maca, or wheatgrass powders
Toppings:
- granola
- coconut
- fresh berries, or other fruit
Instructions
- Simply blend ingredients together in a high processed blender
- Have fun with the toppings
Notes
The final consistency needs to be pretty thick and icy, so if it’s too “liquidy,” add more frozen berries or ice. Or, if your blender is not wanting to blend the frozen drink very well, slowly add more milk until it does. Hope you enjoy!
This bowl was pretty delicious.
