Ingredients
- Ripe bananas (firm, not overly soft)
- Chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet, your favorite kind)
- Optional toppings: shredded coconut, crushed nuts, or a pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Step 1:
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Arrange sliced bananas in a single layer.
Step 2: Microwave method (easy version)
Add chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round. Continue until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
Step 2: Stovetop method
Place chocolate chips in a heat-safe bowl over a small pot of simmering water (double boiler method). Stir gently until melted and silky smooth.
Step 3:
Spoon or spread melted chocolate over each banana slice. No need for perfection—messy and rustic works beautifully here.
Step 4:
Sprinkle with coconut flakes (or any toppings you love while the chocolate is still soft).
Step 5:
Freeze for 1–2 hours, or until firm. Enjoy straight from the freezer—so good.
Notes
Tips for best results
- Use bananas that are ripe but still firm—this helps them hold their shape when dipped and frozen.
- Keep the chocolate coating simple; it doesn’t need to be perfect. A rustic drizzle or dip gives them that homemade charm.
- Store in the freezer so they stay firm, fresh, and snack-ready anytime.
