Instant Pot Hamburger Soup

When I think of Instant Pot hamburger soup, I immediately remember Grandma Ida’s kitchen. Growing up, I’d watch her stir a big pot of hearty soup, the aroma filling the whole house. This quick, family-friendly version brings that same comfort to your table — packed with ground beef, fresh vegetables, and nourishing bone broth, it’s ready in just 20 minutes and perfect for cozy weeknight dinners.

Now, with my own family — soup fans included — I’ve updated Grandma’s classic for the Instant Pot. What used to take an hour on the stove now comes together in about 20 minutes, without sacrificing flavor or nutrition.

Why This Instant Pot Hamburger Soup Is a Family Favorite:

This recipe checks all the boxes of a crowd-pleasing, nourishing dinner:

  • Quick & Easy – Prep and pressure cook in under 30 minutes.
  • Vegetable Loaded – Carrots, celery, and potatoes create hearty nutrition.
  • Protein-Rich – Ground beef adds satisfying protein to keep you full.
  • Gut-Friendly Broth – Use bone broth for added minerals, collagen, and gut support (great for digestion and immunity).
  • Comfort With Benefits – This isn’t just flavor — whole ingredients help support hydration, joint health, and nourishment.

Pressurizing this soup helps lock in nutrients and flavor more efficiently than stovetop simmering, and it’s an easy recipe that’s perfect for weeknights, meal prep, or cozy family dinners.

Tips From My Kitchen

  • Bone broth is a game-changer. Not only does it add depth of flavor, but it also infuses the soup with minerals and collagen — great for digestion, skin, joints, and overall comfort food vibes.
  • Customize it! Want extra veggies? Add zucchini or green beans in the last few minutes.
  • Meal-prep friendly. This soup freezes beautifully, making busy weeknights a breeze.
