You will want to try this SUPER SIMPLE smoothie bowl. Not only are smoothie bowls beautiful, they are healthy and delicious!
I fell in love and became a little spoiled with these smoothie bowls while living in Sydney, Australia. It was so easy while walking home from Tamarama beach with sand all over you to grab a bowl. Not exactly something you can do in the middle of Texas. 🙂 This smoothie bowl is named because it is literally super simple, with the busy mom in mind, like myself!
Another great benefit to these smoothie bowls is that most kids love them too. They are a great way to add in whatever superfood powders you desire!
Health Benefits:
Blueberries: I chose to discuss the health benefits of blueberries since that’s what I used in this recipe, but you can make this smoothie bowl with whatever frozen fruit you wish! Blueberries are rich in vitamin C, K and antioxidants. Think beautiful skin, extra protection against cancer and extra support for your heart and blood. Choose wild, if possible, for an even richer array of nutrients.
Raw milk: You can absolutely use whatever milk you enjoy here! Since we do okay with cows milk in our family, we choose raw milk because of the health benefits. Raw milk is not pasteurized or homogenized so the enzymes and nutrients are still in tact. This helps the body digest and absorb the healthy fats, nutrients and probiotics. Raw milk is also high in bio available calcium and phosphorous. However, if raw milk is not your milk of choice or suitable for your family, there are many great plant based options that substitute well in this recipe!
To Make:
Blend everything (minus desired toppings) in a high powdered blender. Pour in a bowl and top to your hearts desire! The toppings are my favorite part. 🙂
