Postpartum Herbal Tea for Recovery, Milk Supply, and Nourishment
(Simple Daily Infusion)
From having four babies, I’ve learned something I wish I understood earlier—postpartum recovery doesn’t have to be complicated to be deeply supportive. In fact, some of the most helpful things are simple, consistent daily rhythms that nourish your body while it heals.
One of my favorite postpartum habits is a simple herbal infusion for recovery, energy, and milk supply support that I sip throughout the day.
It’s gentle, grounding, and easy to keep up with in real life as a new mom. It’s also delicious!
Why Postpartum Nourishment Matters
The postpartum period is a major time of physical and emotional transition. Your body is healing, your hormones are shifting, and if you’re breastfeeding, your nutritional demands are even higher.
Many moms look for natural ways to support:
- postpartum recovery
- milk supply while breastfeeding
- energy and mineral replenishment
- nervous system calm and emotional balance
This is where a simple postpartum herbal tea can be a beautiful daily support.
My Simple Postpartum Herbal Infusion Recipe
I keep this blend very minimal with just three herbs:
Nettle Leaf
A mineral-rich herb traditionally used to help replenish nutrients after birth. Nettle is also commonly used to support milk supply in breastfeeding moms.
Oatstraw
A deeply calming herb that supports the nervous system. It can feel especially helpful during early postpartum when sleep is broken and emotions feel tender.
Red Raspberry Leaf
A well-known postpartum herb traditionally used to support uterine recovery and reproductive tone after birth.

Benefits of This Postpartum Herbal Tea Blend
This simple herbal infusion is often used to support:
- postpartum recovery and nourishment
- natural milk supply support while breastfeeding
- mineral replenishment and energy support
- nervous system calm and emotional steadiness
- gentle uterine recovery after birth
It’s not about doing everything perfectly—it’s about giving your body steady, consistent nourishment during a demanding season.
How to Make Postpartum Herbal Infusion (Daily Recipe)
Every few days, I prepare a batch:
- 1 tablespoon nettle
- 1 tablespoon oatstraw
- 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon red raspberry leaf (adjust to preference)
- 1 quart (4 cups) boiling water
Instructions:
- Place herbs in a large jar or heat-safe container
- Pour boiling water over them
- Cover and steep for at least 4 hours or overnight
- Strain and sip throughout the day (warm or cold)
That’s it—simple, nourishing, and easy to stay consistent with. My favorite, easy way to drink this tea is by adding it to my large water bottle. Keeps the routine incredibly easy enough to add daily, and also keeps the earthy taste watered down and delicious!

A Simple Approach to Postpartum Recovery
From my experience as a mom of four, postpartum healing isn’t about doing more—it’s about supporting your body in small, sustainable ways.
A simple postpartum tea for recovery and breastfeeding support like this can become a grounding daily ritual that reminds you to slow down and care for yourself too.
